Ammonia Converter Vessel

When it comes to moving the big stuff, our team can do anything. Take, for example, our crane and heavy haul team’s trek out to East Dubuque, Illinois, in the spring of 2016.

East Dubuque Nitrogen Fertilizers, LLC (formerly known as Rentech Nitrogen, LLC) gave us a call for help on a particularly big lift – the heaviest single crane lift in our company’s history, actually. First up was our heavy haul crew, who successfully completed the railway offload, transport to the site, and lift into place of the 702,450-pound ammonia converter vessel to assist in an expansion project for the company.

Next, our crane service crew stepped in. With such a heavy lift, we reached into our deep arsenal of equipment and went with our lattice boom crawler. The combination of our state-of-the-art equipment and proven expertise translated to the safe and efficient completion of the task at hand while also coordinating several other complementary project tasks. A job well done!

A grand total of 1,451,613 lbs was moved on this job. Just take a look at all the lifts Vic’s completed successfully:

  • DR-62B: 89,000 lbs
