Engineer/Project Manager

VIC’S CRANE & HEAVY HAUL, INC., a Minnesota company, with focus on the growing needs of the power and wind industry in the upper Midwest is seeking an experienced and proven professional to be a part of our team. An individual with knowledge and a proven background in the field of Heavy Haul Rigging & Transport. Applicant shall be fluent in communicating solutions for off-load, transport and setting of equipment, transformers, turbines & generators of present and new clients. This position is responsible for receiving a particular job, working out the actual transport details with staff, coordination of equipment and labor to perform the job. Will provide guidance and information to the Heavy Haul division for the moving process. A strong positive and optimistic attitude toward safety and follow through of each job from start to finish is a must.

We are looking for someone who knows the importance and rewards of “getting out of the box”, have ideas and determination to see a job from start to finish – VIC’S has the equipment, manpower and the work – we need the management skill and experience to bring it all together. Salary proportionate to experience and attitude.

Engineering/idea discussions with staff Engineer, Project Management and Supervisory skills to setup, layout and expedite 2-3 heavy moving jobs at a time. Must be able to visualize, see ahead and explain/draw the concept. Be an “idea” person, backed with your previous field & management experience, and team with staff Engineer and Field Heavy Haul Manager to set up, plan jobs, safely and profitably execute them.

Education Required or Preferred: BA - Bachelors Degree - preferred, Engineering experience preferred - but will, instead, except strong-proven experience in rigging, heavy moving and management skills along with strong communication skill.

- Some Travel: approx. 10-15%

Accurate Estimating and bid preparation skills – preferred, but can learn on the job, with the right attitude, to quote rigging & heavy moves.

Detail-Oriented from start to finish
Ensure schedule & procedures in the field
3-5 years experience
